Get rid of Squirrel

What Can We Do For You?

Black, grey, and red squirrels are busy rodents. They can move at up to 25 km/h and have up to two litters per year; one in spring and the other at the end of the summer. Squirrels can dig holes in walls and cross into a house, into empty spaces and attics where they will make nests causing a lot of damage and risks to the health of the occupants.

EVALUATE
AND REMOVE
Capital Wildlife Control’s technicians are trained to identify all the entrance points that squirrels use to get into your house. Using their powerful teeth, squirrels can gnaw wood, aluminium, shingles, and air vents. Squirrels are highly adaptive, so working with specialized technicians to move adults and babies is the least expensive solution. A technician will be able to block all the entrance points to prevent squirrels from coming back and also will be able to help you to remove the squirrels in your property.
CLEAR
AND CLEAN
Capital Wildlife Control’s strategy is humane, safe and reliable. Part of our interventions are devoted to cleaning and treating all contaminated materials that can cause risks to your health. Once established in the house or if you find squirrel in attic, squirrels can gnaw on electric cables, and build nests out of dry leaves and twigs of up to several feet in size. It is important to professionally remove squirrel nests because squirrels and their nests carry ticks and fleas that can be transmitted to pets and even people living in the home. Our technician will assist and advise you on the best cleaning and squirrel removal strategy to eliminate the rest of the nests and to replace the damaged insulation material. These steps will allow you to get back to a safe and enjoyable home for you and your family.
SOME FACTS
ON SQUIRRELS

Squirrels are rodents which constantly scavenge for food and have many babies, producing two litters per year (in spring and at the end of the summer) with an average of 5 or 6 babies per litter. As a result, squirrels can cause serious damage to buildings and can cause a lot of inconvenience to the spaces they inhabit.

  • Squirrels need to constantly gnaw to maintain their incisors which are constantly growing. Multiply this problem with the number of babies from a litter and by the number of litters per year, and you are likely to have a lot of damage to buildings, not to mention fire hazards.
  • If you have squirrel in attic and If squirrels leave their nest for an extended period of time, ticks and fleas will find new hosts (people or pets).
  • Squirrels are really fast and can attack quickly if they feel threatened. Even if they are usually scared of humans, a mother squirrel can become really aggressive if she senses danger or if she is apart from her offspring.
  • Squirrels have one litter counting an average of 4 to 6 babies, two times per year, one in spring and one at the end of the summer. Squirrels usually use between 5 and 6 nests spread into the property. Killing or catching the adults only will not solve the problem because the babies will still be alive and will continue to pass into the attic, the fireplace, the walls, under the roof and air vents.
